DescriptionCircular, shallow platter or plate, bowl or mat made from coiled grass, in a red, black and white geometric design. original paper label on reverse, hand-written by Charles Partridge, reads '18 /Zaria / bought at Idah'. The item was previously loaned to Ipswich Museum in 1934 as part of a large collection of Nigerian artefacts, by Charles Partridge. It was subsequently bequeathed to the Museum in Charles Partridge's will, dated 23rd December, 1955. It entered the collections in 1956. The items were accessioned with a sequence of R.1928 accession numbers.
