(B)each at/ South(?end)/ (74 struck through); and vertically: Prittlewell- / in (?king) Edward the/ 4th (?)gh this was(?called), a (populous) town- said to/ have in it.... people. / Pritlewell Church.Constable described his journey in Essex with Mr Driffield 3 July 1814 to Maria Bicknell. Agnew label on the back of the frame. The drawing is on a page of the dismembered sketchbook used in Suffolk and Essex in June and July 1814.
