DescriptionHairstyle of c. 1840-50 Queen Victoria’s personal style influenced how women wore their hair. She inspired the “Apollo Loop” in which a plain or coiled plait of false hair was attached to wires to create eye-catching loops worn vertically on top of the head. Plaster cast from the first design of the National Art Competition award. Mounted within a sunken gilt frame under glass, inscription Victoria Queen by the Grace of God 1857.
