Paddle (hose) of wood, with painted designs in red, white and black. The blade is painted white, one side has a red tip and a central ridge of red pigment with black stripes and the front has a black tip with a frigate bird design. Marked on in black ink: 'R.1935.177.2'. Broken at the end of the shaft. Purchased from C. Silburn, antiques dealer, Ipswich. From Bougainville, North Solomons by style.
