DescriptionArtwork, in the shape of a kanga, entitled 'Everyone is a Collector' by Alison Stockmarr. The unsigned artwork has been created on polyester screen printing fabric secured over a wooden frame which has been painted a dark red. There are twenty three images of objects from the African Collections and the Charles Partridge Collection stitched in roundels onto the fabric. There is a border with circular motifs some of which have had the centres removed. Along the bottom in the centre is a panel with 'KILA MTU NI MKUSANYAJ', Swahili for 'everyone is a collector'., Created during the period of time Alison Stockmarr was the Artist in Resident as part of of the exhibition 'Social Fabric: African Textiles Today' and utlising images from Ipswich Borough Council's African Collections.
