Hay knife. Shank attached to ash handle by what appears to be a broad plate acting as a tang, with a brace securing it on top of the handle. The blade, fullered on both sides, is stamped W. GILPIN WEDGESMILLS WARRANTED, with a trademark of two crossed axes. Possibly marked with B266.
