DescriptionLong club (tewhatewha) made of carved and polished wood. The top is shaped like an axe, the bottom tapers to a point, an unfinished Janus face is carved near the pointed end. They are sometimes called battle clubs. Two holes have been historically drilled through the blade for feather tassels, none remain. A nail has been put through the blade. Marked on in black ink: '1938.1.47'. Stuck-on label: 'Rev E. Holland' and another which is no ilegible.
