DescriptionLong club (tewhatewha) made of carved and polished wood. The top is shaped like an axe, the bottom tapers to a point. They are sometimes called battle clubs. A hole has been drilled through the blade for feather tassels, none remain. Carved section near the pointed end with scroll design and Janus face. Marked in white ink: '1938.1.48'.
