DescriptionPudding knife made of carved and polished wood, flat in profile with openwork representing a man with bent arms (according to the index card). The top of the knife resembles a tongue with serrated edges (according to the index card). From Rear Admiral Pelham Aldrich aboard the HMS Challenger 1872-1876. Stuck on handwritten label: 'Vanua Lava/Banks Group/HMS Research 1873'. Registration number written in black ink.
