DescriptionWhite bone china teacup that was made to commemorate the proposed Coronation of King Edward VIII on May 12th, 1937. It is decorated with colour transfer print of portrait of Edward between flags with Windsor Castle and Westminster Abbey at sides. On back there are shields of the British Empire and inscription 'Empire on which the sun never sets'., Printed green maker's mark 'Aynsley' on scroll surmounted by crown and wording 'Bone China/England'
