DescriptionThis officer's uniform belonged to Major W Boyce Brown. His field service tunic includes a Sam Browne belt (IPSMG: R.1960-112.3) with revolver holster (IPSMG: R.1960-112.3) and an ammunition pouch. His two cuff 'pips' show his rank of Lieutenant in the Searchlight unit of the Hampshire Fortress Royal engineers during the war. The black bars on the shoulder straps show that he also served in the Home Guard in the Second World War. The uniform has a flaming grenade collar badge which is the emblem of the Royal Engineers. the word 'Ubique' below means 'everywhere' and is their motto.
