DescriptionGlazed ceramic porcelain jar with lid. Wine jar or ginger jar. White ground and cobalt blue under the glaze before firing. Decorated with flowers, butterflies, and other insects, with ornate floral borders. Style of Kangxi period (1622-1722). Probably from the imperial kilns at Jingdezhen. Probably intended for rice wine, or ginger. tall ovoid jar and cover, painted with birds, butterflies and flowering branches in underglaze blue. Flowering tree motif in shaped panels, with surround of chrysanthemum-type floral pattern, H: 13 1/2" Ming.
