TitleSignal crayfish
-
DescriptionSignal Crayfish were introduced for food in the 1970s and 80s but unfortunately spread quickly across much of the UK, in some cases even being able to cross land to colonise adjacent water bodies. The species is much larger than the native White-Clawed Crayfish with which it competes. The species also carries a fungal disease called crayfish plague which is harmful to our native species.
