Milliners dummy or display head. Made from papier-mâché, with painted decoration - black hair, green collar and made-up face. Pin holes in the sides where hats were pinned to it. Hollow head and neck form constructed from papier-mâché. Painted for display - black hair, eyes and eyebrows, flesh coloured face, red lips, green and black collar, and brown base. Constructed in two pieces - front and back - the join line is still visible. Early 19th century?
