bodice, bodice

Pale gold silk bodice with rouched sleeves, lace trim at neck and oval side panels either side below waist. Circa 1880 High vee neckline trimmed with 2 1/2" white lace (later addition) & sleeves narrow and vertical ruching from shoulder to lower elbow and edged with 3 rows stiff finely pleated muslin & centre front fastening with 10 taffeta covered buttons and holes reaching to below waist V point & boned bodice & back is shaped to a low point & oval draped and rouched side panels attached below waist, edged with blond lace & internal waist belt & remains of stitching around the cuffs and centre back that would indicate that something has been removed & muslin lining.
