Shield made of softwood, curved at both ends and painted with black and white pigments. Front convex with sunk vandyke edge, painted white, black flat, with handle cut into the solid on reverse. Purchased from Mr John Jennings, dealer of Holborn, London. Marked on reverse in white ink: '1924.21.1'.
