Ipswich Collections

Tjurunga (also spelled Churinga) made of wood, small and teardrop shaped, flat on one side and convex on the other. Decorated with grooves of chevron decoration on the flat side. A hole drilled for suspension. Old stuck-on label, half missing: 'Cambridge Gulf/W.Austral/1925-'. Collected by the missionary Rev V.N. Sherwin of the Forest River Mission at the request of Mr Alfred Bell.
