Self portrait aged 26 of the artist

Hairstyle of c. 1908 The artist drew this portrait when she was 26. Her hair is very full and backcombed to sit high on the head. It is similar to the ‘Gibson Girl’ look created by illustrator Charles Dana Gibson, which had become very popular in America.
