This is a receipt written by John Constable for General Francis Slater-Rebow on his purchase of a set of prints by the artist entitled 'the English Landscape Scenery'. Slater-Rebow (1770–1845), lived in Wivenhoe in Essex and was Constable’s early patron. He supported the artist early in his career by commissioning portrait and landscape paintings.
