Stays of dark cream cotton and twill, with silk ribbon trim and white linen lining. With lacing that goes two thirds of the length of the front, from the bust. Lacing at the back to fasten, with twelve pairs of eyelet holes & tabbed waist & shoulder straps & whalebone stiffening. It would have been worn with a stay busk. 1779
