bodice, bodice

Bodice of black satin, trimmed with silk fringe. Back fastening. Circa 1840s. Black silk satin & piped high vee neckline with a slit to the bust that has remnants of thread & drop shoulder & full length slim sleeves with floral velvet ribbon trim and small tiny self covered buttons on the cuffs, and fringed braid around top underarms & bodice finishes in a vee at the front, with four bones to shape & bodice in four panels, with same velvet ribbon and fringed braid from shoulders to bottom vee point & centre back fastening with nine metal hooks and eyes & cotton lining
