Needle case of Mother-of-pearl inlaid onto bone or ivory. Each edge is flattened and inlaid with tortoise-shell. Base is also of tortoiseshell. Hinged lid with press-button clasp. Lid and back of base are lined with red velvet. The base is divided into 7 compartments by six strips of ivory. Silver inscription on lid.
