brooch, disc brooch

Jet (wood?) brooch with carved shell pattern edging and oriental pattern in centre.Carved oval, domed brooch. The edge is decorated with 8 carved shells, each with a pierced hole. The centre section has a scalloped border and an oriental pattern in the centre. The carved background is textured. There is a brass pin mounted on the back by two screws.
