coat, tea gown

Lady's cherry coloured tea gown dated about 1918. Largely altered. Ruching onto shoulders and around waist, large sleeves shaped at elbow hem and gathered onto a band. Fastening has three large silk covered buttons and loops. Three loops underneath these, buttons missing. Horizontal pleats in button area made later by hand. Front curves up - Directoire style? White silk bodice lining, a broad black band of ribbon from back side seams loosens outside appearance at back.
