Dark purple ladies bodice of cotton(?) velvet bodice and cuffs, with silk sleeves. worn by donor's grandmother Lovina Cross. Finely ribbed grosgrain sleeves of a slightly lighter hue & high neckline with mandarin collar & full length sleeves & mid thigh length bodice, princess style shaped with darts at waist & no boning & centre front fastening of 13 buttons - plastic (either very early plastic or later replacements) & lined in finely striped cotton (plain lining in sleeves) & small inset pocket (on left side). Buttons up on man's side.
