White cotton chemise or nightgown with square neck and no shoulder seams, constructed out of one piece of fabric (full width of about 1 yard) sewn up the sides under the arms. Shaped at the bottom of the armholes with a 110mm length of gathers at front and back. Neck is trimmed with two widths of lace and one width around the armholes. 'M' monogram hand embroidered on the right breast in white cotton. Circa 1916-1920
