Lady's black silk brocade evening dress dated about 1910. Trained slim-fitting all-in-one dress, princess style at back finishing in train. Low neckline. Sleeveless (original sleeves removed?) Boned bodice. Centre front fastening of hooks and eyes. Existing black silk chiffon at front and armholes probably not original - added later. Underarm dress protectors - marked KLEINERTS (American made.) Skirt fastening at left hip. Flap covers bodice front. Beaded band at hem. Plain silk lining. Label inside waistband: S E Brown Chatham House Knightsbridge S W. Probably worn with cape from same donor.
