hat, straw hat

Straw hat of wood chip plait with black silk ribbon ruffled around the crown. Shallow wide crown which has a deep crease around the edge and a narrow brim. Brim is decorated with wide black silk ribbon in soft ruffles. Inside of crown supported with cream silk covered millinery wire and lined in white silk, missing the drawstring. Label on inside 'Harry Loomes Milliner 85, 86, and 87 High Street Colchester'. Circa 1900-1910.
