ОписаниеCarving, human head made of white pumice stone (?). A protrusion from the neck which may have been to attach it to something. The eyes are carved from the whole and the pupils were inlaid with black material (one now missing) and wooden teeth are set into the mouth, five remain in the mouth. The face shows tattoo marking on the cheeks and on the forehead. Found in a bag with a printed card label: 'Tost & Rohu's Museum and showrooms' and handwritten 'Stone head used for club when mounted on handle British New Guinea'. Likely not Maori manufacture.
