Model of an outrigger canoe made of wood, cowrie shells and coconut fibre lashing. Grooved designs of lines and cross-hatching. Donated by Miss D. E. M. Mathew, collected by Captain G. F. Mathew R.N. (Paymaster in Chief) F.Z.S. F.R.G.S. Tied on label: '1950-210 Daniel Coll'. According to the register these objects were collected from New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands and Fiji between 1881 and 1883.
