Magic in the Trees

Applique textile picture showing people wearing head scarves, with a leaf and African mask design. The banner is signed 'Margaret Cooper '85' and 'Magic in the Trees' is written next to the signature. 'Obeah Nights' is written in pen on the banner. Obeah is a system of spiritual healing and justice-making practices developed among enslaved West African peoples in the West Indies. A wooden rod runs along the top of the banner for display.
