ОписаниеThere is another sketch of a landscape on the reverse. Inscribed by the artist in pencil in the bottom left-hand corner: Leathes Water. The label, which can no longer be seen, was consistent with Mrs. A.M. Constable's list of loans to the South Kensington Museum 1880-83. Number 44 in that loan is 'Indian Ink: study of a lake scene. By John Constable, R.A. Dated 1806'. Leathes Water is now more generally known as Thirlmere. Reynolds 06.271 (p.109). Reynolds 06.272 (p.109) records the mountainous landscape on reverse
