Silver gilded Anglo-Saxon keystone disc brooch with cabochon garnet and foil backing re-set in plaster. Central raised boss inlaid with a single piece of garnet and outlined in fine milgrain decoration. There are four garnets inlaid alternatively with missing settings surrounded by gold decoration, and the rim of the brooch is also decorated with the same milgrain technique that surrounds the boss. Distinctive plaster on the reverse of the brooch, and the pin attachment is heavily corroded.
