Large earthenware jug that is decorated with blue transfer-printed design of rose sprays on front and back, inscription on side 'Henry Batley Westgate Street, Ipswich, 1863' and a four-line verse below 'When this you see remember me / and keep me in your mind / let all the world say what they will / speak of me as you find'. Border round rim inside and out and down the handle and around the foot. Upswept rim towards spout and scroll-shaped handle with spurred thumbpiece., inscibed maker's mark 'L', 'V' or '7'
