Chief's staff (taiaha) made of wood. Flat blade, carved to a point at the end. Conventional head and tongue ornament, carved with scroll design with haliotis (paua) shell inlay eyes on both sides. Carving unfinished. Marked on in black ink: '1938.1.46'.
