cap, embroidered hat

Man's Tudor cap - richly embroidered with 'gold' thread and coloured silks in a scroll pattern with the enclosed spaces filled with flowers and foliage - strawberry - oak, peas (shown in a pod). All worked on white fabric ground with many small gilt spangles interspersed. The deep turn up brim edged with gold net or 'lace' set with spangles.
