trumpet, tusk, side-blown ivory trumpet

Side-blown trumpet or horn that is made from an elephant ivory tusk with a broad metal band that is nailed to the wider end. There is a deep, rectangular hole cut into the trumpet to one side. The pointed end of the tusk has broken off and is missing.
