ОписаниеAt the age of twenty two Constable entered the Royal Academy. He was helped by an introduction to Joseph Farington RA by Priscilla Wakefield, a friend of the Cobbold’s in Ipswich. These life drawings are from his time as a student. One of the life models at the Academy was Samuel Strowger, who was from Suffolk and had worked on a farm near Constable’s family. He was described as ‘a beautiful ploughman’. Gift from Miss Arrahenua (Winoa) Ella Constable (1893-1966)
