ОписаниеThe skull of a Saltwater crocodile from North Australia. Saltwater crocodiles are the largest reptilian species alive today with males growing up to 7 metres in length. They have powerful jaws with between 64 and 68 teeth. This skull is included in the Mythical Creatures exhibition. The Essex village of Wormingford is said to take its name from a worm, a medieval word for dragon, which was reportedly seen there in the 1300s. In one account the beast was described as a crocadil that had escaped from the menagerie at the Tower of London.
